He bails, gets into motorcycle with sidecar and takes off. You parachute out, spamming with gas canisters as you fall. He shoots your plane with the tank (some planes blow up outright, some just catch fire). Dogfight ensues, you shoot him down, he parachutes into tank. There are so many vehicles that when you get shot out of one, you can usually jump/parachute/etc into another.īrief example: You take a tank to enemy base looking for your friend, before you get there he takes off in plane. Its one of the very few games where playing 1v1 with a friend can go on for hours, with only a few deaths, and much hilarity. Its all the vehicle madness of bf1942 (CE is actually the precursor), but 100 times more nuts. Its old as fuck but a COMPLETE BLAST once you get into it. I wish I knew 8 people that I played things with, as it is, a good game is hard to find.Īnother idea: Codename Eagle. They can spawn hoards of zombies, and have all kinds of fun (timing and teamwork is important). They get a random rotation of a number of special infected types, and they try to prevent the survivors from reaching the saferoom. You may very well be familiar with l4d, but if not, versus mode is where you have 4 survivors (humans with guns), and 4 "special infected" zombies.

NEXUIZ STUPID MODE FULL
If you have enough people, versus mode is quite fun (its really hard to get decent games going online some though, would need 8 people for a full game). If you are interested in coop, Left4Dead is pretty good at a lan party. Also people could just discuss their favorite deathmatch games as well, how many people here play at lan parties anymore, or is it just all online gaming? I'm really looking for some suggestion on good team/dm games I may have missed, they dont have to be current games either. I bought COD WOW just so I could play this mode, never touched single player. Its our favorite team game, not really deathmatch I guess. Great for something a little more slower paced.Ĭall of Duty : Nazi Zombies - ok everyones played this, but man the amount of game hours we have put into this is insane. Incredible level design, ruined trainyards, desolate villages, typical Stalker fare.

Lots of camping with snipers on rooftops, waiting for someone to make the first move. Stalker:SOC - amazing single player game, but it has a suprisingly good deathmatch as well. Couple that with the awesome weapon physics (way more fun that farcry2), pristine tropical beaches and you have a game that still gets a few rounds every lan. Most of the levels are really too big for fast deathmatch, but a couple of levels (Monkeybay + Surf) are some of the most fun I have played. Still looks amazing, especially on todays rigs. But for years we played this and its expansions (Desert Combat being the best), great teamplay game.įar Cry - Ok this is one game that noone else seems to play anymore. We dont play this one as much as we used to, all the levels seem to big now, lots of running for ages. The ctf levels are really good, add in force powers and Star Warsy goodness and you have a long term winner.īattlefield 1942 - goes without saying. Jedi Knight Academy - bit of an odd one, but this has some really different dm and team options. UT ffa i didnt enjoy so much for some reason, but the CTF and Seige modes were really well done, with imaginative level design. The team modes were good, but a little rough around the edges and pretty average AI. FFA dm in Quake3 is still in my mind some of the most exhilarating fast paced balls against the wall trash-talking combat on pc. Awesome games, cos we still play em, and they are still great fun. Quake 3 + Unreal Tournament - grouped these together cos they came out around the same time, and those 2 games where all that were played for at least a year. Its hard to introduce new games, and when someone does, its usually shit anyway and never sees the light of day again. However, being a group of grumpy old gamers, we have our little circle of games which we have grown to like and know like the back of our hands, so to speak. Ok, so I dont really play any fps games single player much (with a few exceptions like Stalker series), but I do play a fair bit of team and ffa dm at lan parties and such.
